About

Are You Ready, Inc. was founded by Dr. Candace Reese, a college professor and educational strategist. Raised in inner-city Dallas and completely self-made, she has taught College Composition, Reading and Writing, College Success, American Literature II, and Humanities 1301 for 25 years— six courses across four disciplines. She has also created multiple accelerated learning programs for colleges, universities, and nonprofits.

Since 2002, Dr. Reese has led coaching organizations and retail businesses, including Are You Ready, Inc., which acquired Ruby Tree Publishing in 2021.

Her work with college students revealed a recurring gap: students were often expected to know academic practices they had never been explicitly taught. Are You Ready, Inc. was built to close that gap.
